Instructions for Authors
Manuscripts Formatting Guidelines

Ensuring proper formatting enhances clarity and consistency, facilitating a smoother review and publication process. Please follow the guidelines below when preparing your manuscript for submission to the Journal of Emerging Global Health (JEGH).


Language
  • Manuscripts must be written in either British or American English.

  • Maintain consistency in the chosen language style throughout the document.


Document Format

Submit your manuscript as a Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docx) to ensure compatibility with the journal’s review system.


Page Layout
  • Paper Size: A4 (8.27 x 11.69 inches).

  • Margins: 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides.

  • Line Spacing: 1.5 lines throughout the document.

  • Font: Use Times New Roman, size 12 for all text.


Length
  • Original Research and Review Articles: Maximum of 8,000 words (excluding references).

  • Case Studies and Short Communications: Maximum of 4,000 words.

  • Letter to Editor: 300-800 words.


Manuscript Structure

To improve readability and ensure consistency with journal standards, organize your manuscript as follows:

Title Page
  • Title: Keep the title clear and concise, limited to 20 words.

  • Authors’ Names and Affiliations: Include the full names of all authors, their institutional affiliations, and contact details.

  • Corresponding Author: Clearly indicate the corresponding author’s email address.


Abstract
  • Provide a summary of the study’s objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusions. Limit the abstract to 200–250 words. Include 3–6 keywords for indexing and searchability.


Main Text/ Manuscript

Organize the main text into the following sections:

a) Introduction
  • Explain the background and significance of the study.

  • State the research objectives and how the study addresses a specific gap in the field.

b) Literature Review (optional)
  • Summarize relevant previous research.

  • Highlight gaps in knowledge and how the study contributes to filling them.

c) Methodology
  • Provide a clear description of the research design.

  • Detailed data collection methods, analytical techniques, and any statistical tools used.

d) Results
  • Present findings logically and clearly.

  • Support results with tables, charts, and graphs where applicable.

e) Discussion
  • Interpret the results and discuss their implications for theory and practice.

  • Address any limitations and potential for future research.

f) Conclusion
  • Summarize the key findings of the study.

  • Suggest potential areas for future research.


References
  • Follow the APA 7th (American Psychological Association) referencing style for citations.

  • Cite references using the author-date format (e.g., Doe, 2020).

  • List references alphabetically by the author’s last name in the reference list.

Example:

Doe, J. (2020). Title of the paper. Journal Name, 12(3), 45–50.


Acknowledgements
  • Acknowledge funding sources, contributors, and relevant institutional support.


Appendices (Optional)
  • Include any supporting material that complements the main text.

  • Number appendices (e.g., Appendix A, Appendix B) for clarity.


Figures and Tables

To enhance the presentation of data, follow these guidelines for figures and tables:

  • Numbering: Number all figures and tables sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).

  • Placement: Insert figures and tables within the text, close to the point where they are first mentioned.

  • Captions: Add descriptive captions below figures and above tables for better understanding.


Submission Process

The manuscript submission process is designed to be transparent and user-friendly. Follow these steps to submit your manuscript:

  1. Online Submission: Use the journal’s online submission system to upload your manuscript. [Submit Your Manuscript]

  2. Initial Screening: All submissions will be reviewed for scope, originality, and adherence to formatting guidelines. Revisions may be requested if requirements are not met.

  3. Peer Review: Manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review to ensure unbiased and high-quality feedback.


Authors’ Contribution Declaration

To ensure transparency and compliance with international publishing standards, this journal requires all submissions to include a detailed Authors’ Contribution Declaration based on the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy).

All listed authors must meet the authorship criteria recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), including substantial contributions to the work, drafting or revising the manuscript, final approval, and accountability for the integrity of the research.

  • Tanvir Ahmed: Visualization, Investigation.

Author Responsibility and Accountability

All authors have read and approved the final version of the manuscript. Each author agrees to be accountable for all aspects of the work and ensures that any questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the research are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Editorial Policy Note
  • JEGH adheres to the principles of transparency and best practices in scholarly publishing as outlined by COPE and DOAJ.

  • All submitted manuscripts must include a clear statement of individual author contributions at the time of submission.

  • Any changes in authorship (addition, removal, or rearrangement) after submission must be justified and approved by the editorial office.


Ethical Considerations

Maintaining high ethical standards is critical to the journal’s integrity and reputation.

  • Original Work: Manuscripts must be original and unpublished. Submissions under review elsewhere will not be accepted.

  • Plagiarism: All submissions will be screened for plagiarism. Any work found to be plagiarized will be rejected.


Ethics Declarations

To uphold ethical standards in scholarly publishing, this journal requires all submitted manuscripts to include a clear and complete ethics declaration. The policy aligns with best practices recommended by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Ethical Approval

Authors must state whether ethical approval was obtained for the study, where applicable. Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must comply with recognized ethical standards and be approved by an appropriate institutional or national ethics review board.

Example Statement: “This study was conducted in accordance with established ethical research guidelines, ensuring informed consent, confidentiality, and the responsible use of data.”

Informed Consent

For studies involving human participants, authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained prior to participation. Where applicable, consent for publication should also be included.

Example Statement: “Informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to their involvement in the study.”

Conflict of Interest

Authors are required to disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. If no conflicts exist, authors should explicitly state this.

Example Statement: “The author declares no conflict of interest. The survey dataset was developed and collected by the author specifically for this study. The data may be made available upon reasonable request.”

Data Availability

To promote transparency and reproducibility, authors are encouraged to provide a data availability statement indicating where and how the data supporting the findings can be accessed.

Example Statement: “The data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
