Peer Review Process

The Journal of Emerging Global Health (JEGH) adheres to rigorous international peer review standards to ensure the integrity, quality, and scholarly value of all published content. All manuscripts submitted to JEGH undergo a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential.

Key Features of the Peer Review Process:
  • At least two independent experts in the relevant field review each submitted manuscript for originality, scientific validity, clarity, and relevance to public and Health Systems Sciences.
  • Section Editors assign reviewers and oversee the review process. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript, based on the reviewers’ comments and the editorial board’s recommendations.
  • Editorial Board Members and Advisors provide subject-specific guidance and support for complex or interdisciplinary submissions.
  • The Editorial Office team ensures a smooth and timely review workflow, maintaining transparency and ethical standards throughout the process.
Reviewer Evaluation Criteria:
  • Scope and Relevance
    • Is the research novel and does it contribute new knowledge or practical insights?
  • Originality and Importance
    • Does the manuscript align with the aims and scope of JEGH?
    • Is the topic significant to the fields of public health or Health Systems Sciences?
  • Study Design and Methodology
    • Are the methods appropriate and sufficiently detailed for reproducibility?
    • Are sampling, data collection, and analysis clearly described?
  • Results and Interpretation
    • Are the results clearly presented, and do they support the conclusions?
  • Statistical Validity
    • Are the statistical methods suitable and accurately applied?
  • Ethical Considerations
    • Does the study include necessary ethical approval and informed consent?
    • Have any potential conflicts of interest been disclosed?
  • Clarity and Structure
    • Is the manuscript well-organized and written in clear, concise language?
  • Confidentiality
    • Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential and may not use or share information gained during the review process.
Special Issues and Thematic Sections

Special Issues may be curated on emerging topics of interest and are managed by Guest Editors in collaboration with the editorial team. All submissions for special issues follow the same rigorous peer review process as regular articles.
